The first sector the platform will address is existing buildings, helping them to decarbonize and become net zero certified

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Global Network for Zero (GNFZ), has launched a platform that enables individuals and organizations to accelerate their net zero commitments. The platform provides GNFZ network members with end-to-end support in assessing and calculating their emissions, identifying strategies to hit their targets and certifying their net zero achievements. The third-party certifications offered through this revolutionary platform will validate the compliance of net zero efforts and ensure transparency.

"Our platform, built on years of experience and market knowledge and fueled by data-driven decision-making will pave the way for a societal transformation towards a zero emissions world and leave a lasting positive impact on millions, improving their quality of life. Our net zero certification can be applied across numerous sectors, industries and economies, helping businesses realize their climate goals,” says GNFZ Co-Founders Mahesh Ramanujam and Sarah Merricks.

GNFZ’s first area of focus is existing buildings as they have traditionally faced roadblocks in decarbonizing. The building sector accounts for nearly 40% of global emissions and represents one of our largest decarbonization opportunities. GNFZ’s net zero certification for existing buildings is designed to scale progress and address market barriers. With the promise of leaving no building behind, the certification’s inclusive approach guarantees all existing buildings can establish an incremental roadmap to get to net zero. Subsequent platform releases from GNFZ will offer net zero certifications for organizational operations, supply chain, fleet, products, processes, assets and more.
