Vice President of Technical Development at the Global Network for Zero, Santhosh Manavalan applies his built environment expertise to lead strategy and technical development operations. With a background in facilitating LEED projects in Saudi Arabia and India, Santhosh advocates for GNFZ’s mission by initiating and heading the Technical and Research projects. Some of his other contributions to the organization include: providing leadership guidance and direction on on-going projects, representing the organization on various global platforms, and coordinating development activities with the technology team.
Most recently, Santhosh served as a consultant at Promantus Inc, where he worked with the Global Network for Zero team, focusing on technical development and research on greenhouse gas emission reduction, ESG compliance, net zero and sustainability. His work laid the foundation for the establishment of GNFZ and his new role at the organization.
Santhosh also worked as a Senior Sustainability Consultant at Conserve Solutions for five years where he helped devise sustainable strategies and deliver solutions for the clients. With over 13 years of experience facilitating LEED projects in various spheres like commercial, institutional and residential real estate in Saudi Arabia and India, he also serves as an Assistant Professor of Architecture at the MEASI Academy of Architecture in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, focusing on the domains of sustainability and energy efficiency.
Santhosh holds various degrees from a Bachelors of Architecture from Anna University in Chennai, to a Masters Degree in Construction Project Management from NICMAR University in Pune, Maharashtra, India and a Masters of Architecture from Bharath University, Chennai, India. He is a LEED, WELL and Indian Green Building Council Accredited Professional.
