Dr. Spenser J. Robinson, CRE, is a recognized leader in the field of real estate advisory, education and research, serving as Campbell Endowed Professor, Director of the Real Estate and as chair of the Entrepreneurship Department at Central Michigan University (CMU). Dr. Robinson specializes in real estate sustainability, entrepreneurship and finance.
Dr. Robinson’s research has earned him national and international acclaim, with a focus on climate risk, ESG frameworks and sustainable real estate practices. He has published extensively in leading journals with over 35 peer reviewed publications spanning climate risk to valuation. Additionally, he holds the Counselor of Real Estate designation, has served as an Editor of the Journal of Sustainable Real Estate since 2015 and is a Distinguished Fellow of NAIOP's Research Foundation. His contributions include leadership roles within the American Real Estate Society, where he has served as President and Chair of the Research Committee.
Beyond academia, Dr. Robinson is an accomplished consultant, industry instructor and expert witness, providing services in banking, capital markets, carbon accounting and ESG-related real estate issues, through Robinson Experts. He is a lead author for video-based textbooks with Blended Teaching, delivering content in Real Estate Finance, Real Estate Investment and Corporate Finance in use at universities across the globe. He regularly trains large financial institutions on commercial real estate underwriting. Holding multiple professional certifications, including ISO 14001 and ISO 19011 Lead Auditor credentials, Dr. Robinson bridges the gap between academia and industry, equipping students and professionals with the skills to navigate the evolving real estate landscape.
