Shabbir’s career journey began in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he embarked on his professional path as a Structural Engineer. Over the years, he climbed the corporate ladder and became renowned within the real estate sector as a leading advocate for green initiatives. Before joining GNFZ, Shabbir served as Chief Sustainability Officer at K Raheja Corporation for 18 years where he led sustainability initiatives for commercial and residential buildings, hotels and malls in India. During his tenure, Blackstone, a global leader in investment management, partnered with K Raheja Corp on a billion dollar fund aimed to green their real estate portfolio. He has also led green building transformation projects with the Bill Clinton Climate Foundation's Building Energy Retrofit Program.

Shabbir holds a Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering from the University Of Cincinnati and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from University of Mumbai. He has a post graduate management diploma in real estate and financial management from NICMAR.
