Sanyog Rathod, AIA is a highly accomplished architect, advocate, and educator who has played an active role in shaping the advancement of sustainable design principles for the built environment for over three decades.
Sanyog founded Sol design + consulting in 2006 in the early days of the green-building movement with the intention of creating a firm that could integrate pressing environmental and social issues into economic decision-making of building projects, including homes, multifamily, and commercial buildings.
The firm has developed industry-recognized expertise in sustainability consulting, green building certification, building diagnostics, and education and training. At Sol, Sanyog leads the team’s sustainability and design efforts across energy consulting and certification in over 20 states and across the globe. Sanyog is a credentialed WELL Building Standard Performance Testing Agent, a Certified Passive House Consultant, and a LEED Accredited Professional with the USGBC.
Sanyog is a longtime member and volunteer with the USGBC and currently serves as Vice Chair of the USGBC-Ohio Market Leadership Advisory Board.
Outside of his work at Sol and his leadership at USGBC-Ohio, Sanyog is a passionate educator and has served on the Sustainability faculty at the University of Cincinnati, Xavier University, and Cincinnati State, developing the next generation of sustainability leadership professionals.
As an Advisor to GNFZ, Sanyog will leverage his market transformation experience, technical skills, and net zero design expertise to help GNFZ advance its mission and grow the network. In particular, he is passionate about exploring how GNFZ certification can better serve the residential market and affordable housing sectors – both nationally and internationally.
