With three decades of experience in the green building movement, GNFZ Advisor Cesar Ulises Treviño is a globally recognized and sought-after expert on the latest innovations in sustainable building practices — including critical carbon mitigation practices — and how these innovations can be applied to ensure that future generations will inherit a healthy and restorative planet. As the Founder and General Director of Mexico-based Bioconstruccion y Energia Alternativa, a leading consulting firm, Cesar’s sustainability leadership has been widely leveraged throughout the entire Latin American region.
Cesar founded the Mexican Green Building Council, which has been instrumental in ensuring Mexico’s rank as a top market for green building, and served on both the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee for the World Green Building Council (World GBC). He is a member of the Sustainable Building of the Environmental Cooperation Commission for North America and was the first professional in Mexico to receive the LEED AP and LEED Fellow designations.
Dedicated to promoting green building practices around the world, he has spoken at highly-trusted platforms across America, Europe, and Asia and has served as an editorial collaborator in various specialized magazines and magazines. Cesar has been recognized with the ‘Chairman’s Award’ from World GBC, the ‘Green Leadership Award Mexico’ from USGBC, and has been appointed an Honorary Member by the Mexican National Academy of Architecture.
As a GNFZ Advisor, Cesar will continue to help galvanize a robust and cohesive generation of net zero leadership laser-focused on acceleration, and, in particular, to help strengthen a unified resource, methodology, and support system for those pursuing net zero certification in Mexico and beyond.
Cesar has a degree in civil engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey and a Master's degree in construction management from the University of Newcastle in England.
