GNFZ Scientific Advisor Arun Tiwari brings a lifelong commitment to bettering the world around him by using science, innovation, and communication to solve the growing global challenges of the 21st century. A respected scientist, international advisor and renowned public speaker, Tiwari received his master’s in mechanical engineering from GB Pant University and worked under Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam at the DRDO, India’s premiere R&D organization that is responsible for developing emerging military technologies. There, he spearheaded a unique technology spinoff from the strategic sector to make medical devices affordable and delivered India’s first coronary stent.
A prolific writer with 25 published books, including Wings of Fire (1999), which has sold more than 2 million copies, and later hits like India 3.0: Rising of A Billion People (2017), India Wakes (2019), and Decoding the Pandemic (2021). Tiwari is considered amongst India’s leading communicators of science. Working out of Hyderabad, he held various positions, including Platinum Jubilee Mentor of CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Director of the Care Foundation, Adjunct Professor in the School of Management Studies at Hyderabad University, and is currently Chief Mentor at the Centre for Renewable Hydrogen Research.
