April Ambrose, LEED Fellow, is a leading sustainability expert with over 25 years of experience in the sustainability and advanced energy industry and a longtime champion of decarbonization. As Founder and President of ecoviabl, a sustainability consulting firm, she combines strategic thinking with passionate advocacy to equitably sustain Arkansas' diverse ecosystems and communities for future generations.
She also currently serves as the Director of Workforce Development for the Arkansas Advanced Energy Foundation, where she is dedicated to fostering economic growth and supporting Arkansas' communities through career education and skill development. Her goal is to develop a clean economy career pipeline to ensure diverse students and adults gain equitable, quality, family-sustaining jobs; enable employers to access a qualified workforce pool; to support public and private partners in streamlining efforts and leveraging funding together; and to reduce our collective impact on climate and human health.
An Arkansas native, April designed her own major at Hendrix College in Environmental Education, founded Arkansas Earth Day Foundation among other non-profit leadership, and has provided over 500 educational presentations to local and national groups. Previously, April served as the Business Development Manager for Entegrity, a Little Rock based energy and sustainability consulting and development firm. As first employee at Entegrity, April was instrumental in expanding the firm from two to 130 employees across nine offices in the mid-South. During her tenure, April’s leadership contributed to the design and implementation of hundreds of sustainable building projects (including the first LEED Zero certified project in the world), initiated ESG reporting efforts, and instituted the company’s DEI group.
Recognized by Arkansas Business Journal as a “40 under 40” honoree and an “Eco-Hero” and first Chair of the Little Rock Sustainability Commission, she is an award-winning professional and proven leader. She is a respected leader in education, workforce development, net zero initiatives, sustainable development, equity, dashboards, and behavioral change.
April brings her expertise in systems thinking, project facilitation, and extensive experience in education, mentorship and community building to help GNFZ grow the network advocating for an accelerated net zero future.
